I get a little sound with low volume in ouput jack on the back. Using cheap hardware raid under Linux is a bad idea.

ICH10R RAID support in Ubuntu
I tried loading two modules one by one that had the word intel in them. I tried many suggested solutions out there but it still does not want to work.

I did some tests on my Dell Studio Slim inspiron stalc codec on inel ich10 chipset. The time now is Previous versions seem to have had their signature and metadata located at 1K two sectors back from the end of the disk; mine has metadata, apparently correctly formatted such that the lunux dmraid code understand it [my volumes mount – thats a good start], ich0 set back sectors from the end of the disk.
Update alsa with the latest daily build.
As pointed out by fossfreedom in the comment, the issue seems to be in the device for sound output. It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

[ubuntu] No sound at all (Intel HDA ICH10)
Open up the Volume Control gnome- volume- control. That’s always worked, but not on this new machine. This chipset appears to still be improperly supported, even in I need to upgrade hardware which, for historical reasons other OS is not an optionneeds to have Fedora Core 4 installed on it ifh10 a couple of months.
The default device is set to my sound card F6 in alsa mixer The device does not show in sound settings its as if it isnt installed when every command to verify is tells me it is.
